Venom
Non-venomous. A large flat-backed platyrhacid; defends with hydrogen cyanide and benzaldehyde (almond-scented) secretion from ozopores — can stain and irritate skin/eyes. Wash hands after handling.

Habitat
Lowland and hill rainforest of Borneo. The flat, "tractor-tread" 20-segment body lives on the forest floor among leaf litter, logs and rotting wood. 0 – 1,000 m.

Detritivore — decaying leaf litter, rotting wood and fungi. A large nocturnal forest-floor recycler.

Feeding
Decaying hardwood leaf litter and soft rotten wood as staple; supplement with cuttlebone calcium, vegetables and a little fish-flake protein.

Terrestrial; 10 – 15 cm of deep, moist hardwood-leaf and rotten-wood substrate with bark hides. Min 30 × 30 cm.

Temperament
Docile, slow and flat-bodied; presses to the ground or curls and secretes when alarmed. Handle minimally.

Not found in the wild in Thailand. Native range: Malaysia and Indonesia (Borneo).
