Venom
Medically significant. Venom causes extreme pain, severe swelling, weakness, nausea and fever; a rare human fatality is on record. One of the more dangerous keeper centipedes — strictly hands-off.
In the Wild
Habitat
Widespread across tropical and subtropical Asia incl. Vietnam; this "mint leg" stock is a Vietnamese locality. Forest floor — under logs, rocks, bark and in soil burrows. 0 – 1,000 m.
Wild Diet
Aggressive nocturnal generalist: insects, spiders, other centipedes and small vertebrates.

Temperature
24 – 28 °C ambient — 22 °C cool end
Humidity
70 – 85 %. Damp substrate with a drier surface and a water dish; ventilate.
UV Requirements
None required (nocturnal).
Feeding
Crickets, roaches and locusts; occasional pinky for adults. Every 7 – 10 days.
Enclosure
Terrestrial/fossorial. 10 – 15 cm of moist substrate, cork-bark hides, tight escape-proof lid. Min 30 × 20 cm. Keep singly.
Temperament
Fast, aggressive and bite-prone — one of the more defensive species. Never handle.

Not found in the wild in Thailand. Native range: Vietnam.
