Habitat
Arboreal and diurnal. Coastal lowland forest, banana and palm plantations and gardens in northern Madagascar and the Comoros.
Wild Diet
Small insects plus nectar, pollen and soft fruit.
Captive Care
Temperature
Basking 28 – 32 °C; ambient 25 – 28 °C; cool end 23 °C.
Humidity
60 – 80 %. Mist daily; they lap water droplets from leaves.
UV Requirements
High (diurnal basker). UVI 2 – 4. A T5 6 % UVB is recommended.
Feeding
Gut-loaded micro/small crickets dusted with calcium + D3, plus day-gecko nectar/fruit mix 2 – 3× weekly.
Enclosure
Planted arboreal terrarium, min 30 × 30 × 45 cm for a pair. Bamboo, cork and broad leaves; good ventilation.
Temperament
Active and confident but too small and fast to handle — a display gecko. Bright green with gold "dust" speckling and red bars on the lower back.
Origin
Not found in the wild in Thailand. Native range: Madagascar and the Comoros Islands.
