Mild huntsman venom — a bite gives localised pain and swelling only; not medically significant. Bites are defensive and uncommon.
In the Wild
Habitat
Tropical and subtropical rainforest. A flattened, superbly camouflaged ambusher that presses against lichen- and moss-covered tree trunks. 0 – 1,200 m.
Wild Diet
Moths, flies, roaches and other tree-trunk insects. Nocturnal sit-and-wait predator that runs prey down in a flash.

24 – 28 °C ambient — 22 °C cool end
Humidity
75 – 85 %. Mist lightly most evenings; provide good cross-ventilation to prevent stagnant air.
UV Requirements
None required (nocturnal).
Feeding
Flying insects, crickets and roaches. Adults every 5 – 7 days; will take prey almost its own size.
Enclosure
Arboreal/flat-dweller: tall enclosure with broad cork-bark slabs and vertical surfaces to flatten against. Shallow substrate. Min 25 × 25 × 35 cm tall.
Temperament
Cryptic and shy but extremely fast; bolts rather than bites. Not a handling species — escape artist when open.
