Old-World earth tiger with potent, medically significant venom and no urticating hairs. Bites are defensive and deliver strong, lasting pain and cramping — handle with extreme care.

Undescribed Ornithoctoninae trade form from southern China / northern Vietnam (sometimes linked to Citharognathus tongmianensis). A fossorial forest-floor burrower.

Insects and other arthropods taken in a fast nocturnal ambush from the burrow entrance.

None required (nocturnal).

Crickets, roaches and locusts. Slings every 4 – 5 days; adults every 7 – 10 days.

Fossorial, 15 – 20 cm of moist packed substrate, cork-bark hide and water dish. 25 × 25 cm footprint.

Fast, defensive and secretive; bolts or threat-postures when disturbed. Display species, not for handling.
