In the Wild
Habitat
Trade locality given as Vietnam; sold as a vivid all-red armoured trapdoor spider. Builds a silk-lined burrow with a hinged trapdoor and radiating trip-lines in shaded forest soil.
Wild Diet
Ground insects ambushed at the burrow mouth when trip-lines are disturbed. Nocturnal sit-and-wait predator.

24 – 28 °C ambient — 22 °C cool end
Humidity
78 – 88 %. Keep substrate damp; moderate ventilation.
UV Requirements
None required (nocturnal, fossorial).
Feeding
Crickets and roach nymphs near the trapdoor. Every 7 – 10 days.
Enclosure
Fossorial: 12 – 18 cm of firm packed moist substrate for a permanent lined burrow with trip-lines. Min 20 × 20 cm, undisturbed.
Temperament
Shy and reclusive; bolts into the burrow and seals the door. Hands-off display species.

Not found in the wild in Thailand. Native range: Vietnam.
