Habitat
Semi-aquatic arboreal. Rivers and streams in tropical forest on Sulawesi (Celebes), Indonesia. Perches on branches overhanging water; dives when threatened. 0 – 500 m.
Wild Diet
Primarily plant material — leaves, fruits & flowers. Also insects and invertebrates, especially as juveniles. Herbivory increases with age.

Humidity
70 – 90 %. Daily misting; large water feature essential for drinking and thermoregulation.
UV Requirements
High (strongly diurnal basker). UVI 3.0 – 6.0. T5 10 – 12% UVB mandatory. Basking spot 38 – 42 °C.
Feeding
Leafy greens (collard, mustard, dandelion), fruits, flowers & insects. Adults primarily herbivorous. Feed daily.
Enclosure
Very large arboreal / semi-aquatic. Min 180 × 90 × 180 cm for adults. Swimming water section, tall climbing structure, powerful UVB and basking lamp.
Temperament
Flighty when young — can injure themselves against glass. Settles with routine. Spectacular display lizard. Advanced keeper species.
