~10 cm legspan; body 21 – 25 mm (female), 15 – 18 mm (male). Bright orange hairs.
Venom
Sparassid huntsman — venom is not medically significant; a defensive bite is mechanically painful but harmless systemically.
In the Wild
Habitat
Highland and lowland forest of peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, Sumatra and southern Thailand. A flat, fast nocturnal hunter on tree bark and foliage. 0 – 1,500 m.
Wild Diet
Free-roaming ambush hunter of insects and other arthropods — moths, roaches and crickets — caught by speed.

24 – 29 °C ambient — 22 °C cool end
Humidity
70 – 85 %. Light daily misting with strong ventilation; drinking droplets on bark.
UV Requirements
None required (nocturnal).
Feeding
Crickets, roaches and moths. Adults every 7 – 10 days; slings every 4 – 5 days.
Enclosure
Arboreal — tall enclosure (25 cm+) with vertical cork-bark and leaf cover; shallow moist substrate. Keep singly.
Temperament
Fast and skittish; prefers to flee but will bite defensively if trapped. A striking display species, not for handling.

Not found in the wild in Thailand. Native range: Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand.
