In the Wild
Habitat
Lowland forest, floodplain grassland and paddy margins of north-east Thailand (Isan), Laos, Cambodia and southern Vietnam. Burrows in moist soil. 0 – 400 m.
Wild Diet
Insects and other invertebrates; large adults take small vertebrates. Nocturnal burrow-ambush predator.

Temperature
26 – 30 °C ambient — 24 °C cool end
Humidity
75 – 85 %. Damp substrate with a shallow water dish.
UV Requirements
None required (nocturnal).
Feeding
Crickets, roaches and locusts. Every 7 – 10 days.
Enclosure
Terrestrial, 10 – 15 cm of moist substrate for deep burrows, with cork hides. Min 30 × 30 cm. Tolerant of communal housing if well fed.
Temperament
Docile to moderately defensive — one of the calmer Asian forest scorpions. Pincer-led defence over stinging.
