Venom
Old-World earth tiger with potent, medically significant venom and no urticating hairs. Bites are defensive, with strong pain, swelling and cramping.
In the Wild
Habitat
Vietnamese fossorial species (regional form close to Cyriopagopus minax) from warm, humid lowland and hill forest. Digs deep silk-lined burrows in compact soil.
Wild Diet
Insects and other arthropods taken in a fast nocturnal ambush at the burrow mouth.

Temperature
24 – 28 °C ambient — 22 °C cool end
Humidity
75 – 85 %. Keep the deeper substrate moist with a drier surface; water dish and ventilation.
UV Requirements
None required (nocturnal).
Feeding
Crickets, roaches and locusts. Slings every 4 – 5 days; adults every 7 – 10 days.
Enclosure
Fossorial, 15 – 20 cm of moist packed substrate, cork-bark hide and water dish. 25 × 25 cm footprint.
Temperament
Fast, defensive and reclusive. Advanced keepers only; no handling.

Not found in the wild in Thailand. Native range: Vietnam.
