Shaded ravine and riverbank slopes of southern China (Guangxi, Yunnan) and northern Vietnam (Vinh Phuc, Ninh Binh). Lives in a silk-lined burrow sealed by its hardened, disc-shaped abdomen (phragmosis).

Ground insects ambushed at the burrow entrance. Nocturnal sit-and-wait predator.
Captive Care

Fossorial: 12 – 18 cm of firm packed substrate for a permanent lined, plugged burrow. Min 20 × 20 cm, kept undisturbed.
