Powerfully Neurotoxic (α & β-bungarotoxins). Causes progressive respiratory paralysis. High fatality rate without antivenom. Considered one of the most dangerous snakes in Asia.
In the Wild
Habitat
Terrestrial. Forests, forest edges, scrubland, rice paddies and villages, often near water. 0 – 1,000 m. Found throughout most of Thailand.
Wild Diet
Primarily other snakes; also lizards, frogs & small mice. Nocturnal hunter.

60 – 80 %. Moderate misting 3× per week.

Feeding
Pre-killed mice or small snakes. Adults every 7 – 10 days. May refuse food during cooler months.

Terrestrial. Min 120 × 60 × 45 cm. Secure lid essential — exceptional escape artists. Multiple hides.
Temperament
Docile and slow by day but potentially lethal at night. Deceptively calm demeanour. Expert keepers only.
